In Islamic teachings, self-knowledge (maʿrifat al-nafs) has been regarded as a foundational pathway and a cognitive ladder for attaining knowledge of the Lord (maʿrifat al-rabb). Employing a descriptive-analytical method and adopting a mystical approach, this study elucidates the practical application of the principles of theoretical mysticism (ʿirfān-i naẓarī), with focus on the human rational soul (al-nafs al-nāṭiqah) as a key intermediary in the process of divine cognition. Based on the research findings, seventeen precise mystical relationships between self-knowledge and knowledge of God have been identified and systematically formulated. This network of relations demonstrates that the systematic application of philosophical and mystical principles plays an essential role in understanding the deeper and esoteric levels of religious texts, including the verses of the Qur'an and the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt(a). Consequently, an accurate comprehension of the stages of the soul and the journey through its inner realms guides the researcher towards knowledge of the divine names and attributes. The final conclusion made in this study confirms that the implementation of these principles is not only significant for the theoretical articulation of the relationship between self-knowledge and knowledge of God but also effective in the practical realization of divine knowledge and mystical wayfaring. This research is a step forward toward demonstrating the applied capacities of theoretical mysticism in the domain of theology and offers a systematic model for the integration of self-knowledge and God-knowledge.
