The ontology of Transcendent Philosophy and the emphasis of religious sources on the glorification (tasbīḥ) of all beings led Mullā Ṣadrā to propose the theory of the concomitance of existence and knowledge. However, the necessity of the knower’s immateriality raised the question of how material entities can know and glorify the Divine. Sadra’s solution to this apparent contradiction was to ascribe soul and intellect to natural objects. However, some critics view this solution as incomplete. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between the immaterial and material levels in natural objects, employing a descriptive-analytical method to elaborate on Mullā Ṣadrā's perspective. It concludes that since Sadra likens the relationship between the immaterial and material levels in natural objects to that of the soul and body, where they are united, the same applies to material entities. In material entities, the level of the ideas (mithāl) is united with the natural objects and this unity, like the unity of soul and body, is of the type of the unity of manifestation and the manifester. Thus, based on the category absoluteness (iṭlāq-i maqsamī) of the immaterial level, immateriality flows through material levels. Consequently, material entities are no longer purely material but rather material-immaterial in nature.
