Abstract
The two terms of 'proximity by obligataries and 'proximity by supererogatories are among the terms coined and spread by theorotical mysticism. Though the origin of these two terms can be traced back to a Qudsi tradition (known as frequency tradition and considered as reliable by both Islamic sects] which speaks of their impacts including the fact that supererogatory and compulsory prayers bring about proximity [to Allah], these terms have acquired somewhat new senses (though relevant to their ordinary senses) in mysticism.
