Abstract
The growth of the faculty of imagination performs a significant role in the transcendence of philosophical thought. As per Mulla Sadra’s principles and system of epistemology, the privation of imagination equals the lack of knowledge. Although, the faculty of imagination is not equal to the whole of man’s mind, it is a mediator both in the descending course -the process of giving forms to the intellectual meanings- and ascending course -the process in which imaginal forms make the ground for the development of intellectual meanings. This rule covers the faculty of perception of children, too. In their research, the authors have first taken the philosophical thought more general than the thought in universals in order to preserve rational method and thus to subsume in the definition the fundamental branches related to the growth of thought. Then, they explained Mulla Sadra’s desired faculty of imagination as a container of forms and as an aid to perception. They have drawn the conclusion that the faculty of imagination can make progress –because it is an innate disposition, taking delight and is influential in performing actions- and this progress can work in the transcendence of children’s philosophical thought in the positions of perception and practice and the collective harmony of faculties due to the purification of their souls.
