Abstract
Following Aristotle, Muslim philosophers introduced Matter as the origin of the changes and alterations of things; since those changes inhere matter and physical things, they confine the realm of fluid beings to the world of material bodies. They have also mounted various arguments to prove the concomitance between matter and material form and that hyle (prime Matter) is exclusive to the world of nature. In what follows, the author has examined those arguments in order to study how far the domain of fluid beings go. What is inferred from both rational and traditional arguments is that being fluid and flux is a graded quality resulting from the feeble level of existence of things and accordingly the domain of fluid things includes all contingent beings -depending on their feebleness- thus time will extend over the metaphysical realm .
