Using an analytic methodology and based on Aristotle's works this study assesses the nature and epistemic roles of the principle of non-contradiction. Based on this study, Aristotle has, on the whole, given seventeen formulations of the principle of non-contradiction. One can arrange these formulations into two groups: ontological formulations and logical formulations. The former focuses on 'existence' as the axis of the formulation of the principle of non-contradiction whereas the latter concentrates on the concepts of statement, negation and affirmation. According to this study, the ontological formulation of the principle of non-contradiction can be reduced to the opposition of words. Thus the limitations considered by Aristotle in his logical formulation of the principle of non-contradiction explain the unity of two concepts under all circumstance and the only difference they have is that one is negative in comparison to the other. Based on the findings of this research, Aristotle is of the view that in attaining knowledge the principle of non-contradiction is prior to any other type of knowledge whether notion or assertion. In other words, in Aristotle's philosophy the principle of non-contradiction is a principle (arche) for obtaining any other type of knowledge. The 'absolute priority' indicates that the principle of non-contradiction plays four epistemic roles which consist of justificatory base, indicatory base, signification base and practical base.}, keywords = {principle of non-contradiction,conjunction of two contradictory things,elimination of two contradictory things,origin of all statements,justificatory base,indicatory base,signification base,practical base,Aristotle}, title_fa = {بررسی چیستی و نقش‌های معرفتی اصل عدم تناقض با تأکید بر دیدگاه ارسطو}, abstract_fa = {پرسش اصلی این تحقیق بدین قرار است: اصل عدم تناقض از نظر ارسطو چگونه تقریر می‌شود و واجد چه نقش معرفتی است؟ در این تحقیق با استفاده از روش تحلیلی و با تمرکز بر آثار ارسطو به بررسی چیستی و نقش‌های معرفتی اصل عدم تناقض پرداخته‏‌ایم. بر اساس نتایج این پژوهش، ارسطو در مجموع هفده بیان از اصل عدم تناقض را در آثار خود مطرح کرده است. می‌توان این بیآن‌ها را در دو دسته کلی طبقه‌بندی کرد: تقریر هستی‌شناختی و تقریر منطقی. در تقریر هستی‌شناختی، مفهوم «هستی» محور اساسی بیان اصل عدم تناقض را تشکیل می‌دهد؛ در حالی که در تقریر منطقی، اصل عدم تناقض، استفاده از مفاهیم قضیه، سلب و ایجاب محور قرار گرفته است. در این پژوهش نشان دادیم که تقریر هستی‌شناختی اصل عدم تناقض به تقابل مفردات بازمی‌گردد و بر این اساس، می‌توان به این نتیجه رسید که قیدهایی که ارسطو در تقریر منطقی خود از اصل عدم تناقض به کار برده، در حقیقت برای بیان یگانگی دو مفهوم در همه شروط و حیثیت‌هاست و تنها تفاوت آنها در نفی بودن یکی در مقایسه با دیگری است. بر اساس یافته‌های این پژوهش، از نظر ارسطو، اصل عدم تناقض در فرایند پیدایش معرفت، نسبت به هر گونه معرفتی، خواه معرفت تصوری یا معرفت تصدیقی، از اولویت مطلق برخوردار است. به عبارت دیگر «اصل عدم تناقض در فلسفه ارسطو برای تحصیل هر گونه معرفتی، به نحو مطلق άρχή (= آرخه؛ اصل، arche) است». مقصود از «اولویت مطلق» آن است که اصل عدم تناقض واجد چهار نقش معرفتی است. این چهار نقش عبارت است از: ابتنای توجیهی، ابتنای حکایی، ابتنای دلالی و ابتنای عملی.}, keywords_fa = {اصل عدم تناقض,اجتماع نقیضین,ارتفاع نقیضین,امّ القضایا,ابتنای توجیهی,ابتنای حکایی,ابنتای دلالی,ارسطو}, url = {https://fhi.hekmateislami.com/article_41117.html}, eprint = {https://fhi.hekmateislami.com/article_41117_8de22950d46550c00380aaaa6f794a9a.pdf} }
